Problems With SMS Playing .AVI Files

I recently downloaded SMS and installed it, but when I went to try to play some videos off my 2GB Imation flash drive it didn't work. I went online and tried to find why it wasn't working.I found that I didn't have the files needed, USBM.IRX and USBD.IRX, so I downloaded them and put them in the "SMS" folder on my memory card. I tried again and it still didn't work. Then I decided to try burning a DVD. I followed the guide on the user manual, and tried to play it. Again it didn't work, I did exactly as the guide said and it still didn't work, for those of you wondering my "Disable DVD/CD" option is disabled, I have the dummy files on the "Video_TS" folder and my I have and un-modded PS2 (the older, "fat" one), and I am using a sony DVD+RW.
I'm getting very frustrated and am wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if theres something I'm not doing, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help.

Is your stick also formatted with FAT32, if not SMS prob cant read it, i dont think it supports anything but FAT32, so a backup of files on it and a new format might be needed...

If it is just the wrong USB driver for that stick then I'm sure there is a good few threads that got solutions to exactly your problem..

Try this thread..

http://psx-scene.com/forums/official...umb-drive.html

Or...

Have a search through some of the threads, I remember for sure that there seems to be quite a few variations on the USBM.IRX and USBD.IRX files that can be used, some seem to work for some of the more fiddly usb sticks..

Also does UlaunchELF recognise your USB stick, if so, take the USBD.IRX from that and copy it to your SMS folder..

Here's some others people have tried...

http://home.casema.nl/eugene_plotnikov/USBDrv.rar

Or Use usbd.irx from
http://naplink.napalm-x.com/

Ohhh so SMS can only read FAT32 format?
I though it was just FAT

Doesn't the flash drive have to be in FAT format to be recognized by like codebreaker and ARMAX?
If so...I don't think I can reformat my flash drive considering I use my coderbreaker/ARMAX.....

SMS might support FAT or rather FAT12.. which has a limit of 32mb i think.. or FAT16 which i think is max 2GB volume size.. but i've never tried to format something that small that wasnt a floppy or virtual floppy partition..

Its FAT32 all the way now with most devices all the way up to 2TB, or NTFS if you choose so..

Just don't try NTFS! SMS still doesn't support that unfortunately..
