SMS to/from PC

Is there anyway to connect my pc to my slim ps2 other then networking it with a cat5 crossover cable? Maybe something like a usb cable?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what it is that you dislike about it. The crossover cable, or using the ethernet port at all, or the fact that a direct cable to the PS2 makes it impossible to use the same LAN port for Internet.

If that last is your problem, then a simple solution is to use a router and plug both the PC and the PS2 into its LAN ports (using straight cable, not crossover), and connecting your broadband modem to the WAN port of the router. This is how I do it myself, though I have 3 PCs and 2 PS2s in my LAN.

Some custom interfaces have been used in the past (eg: PukkLink), but I have never used them myself, and they have no support in modern homebrew software.

My only problem with connecting with a crossover cable is the fact that I don't own one. I have a 2.0 usb cable, and I just want to know if it's possible to play my mp3s and movie files that are on my pc?

If not, then I'll go out and get a crossover cable and network the pc and ps2.

Thanks for the tips tho.

I don't think there will be any support for what you want in any ps2 app so just buy a cable or a router. Search ebay for a crossover cable as local store will likely have them way overpriced or even sell you a straight one out of ignorance.
