A Customized skin for SMS

I have customized/modified a skin specific for SMS,hope anyone see it would like it .

P.S.
skin.jpg is the customized image and originated from Crestdem0n
skin_on_tv is the image of SMS with the skin
skin.rar contain the pre-builded skin.sms

The Decent REALLY scared my g/f. More than any other horror flick in memory. Strange. I was concerned that the black tones would decompress poorly, but SMS handled it well...even with the lights out.
Can the PS2 handle that HR.AC3.5.1?

i just see half way of the descent movie,it is quite scared (i haven't think you will mention the movie instead of comment my skin made,haaa)

SMS will decode the AC3 5.1 into 2 channels .

but doesn't the HR (high res) video skip?

Sorry I don't have any comments on your skin. I only make backgrounds for personal use...and my esthetics are different.

But I will contribute the template I've created. It shows the approximate outlines for the three areas in the browser. It is the result of trial and error, so the lines may not be exact. It's zipped in PSD format and is for NTSC screens. If it helps anyone design skins, just give me a shout when you post them. Also feel free to tweak the template and share.

When i played the High resolution(HR) movie ,it is surprisely just have very little video and sound skip on SMS .I am wonder if more optimization is made to the SMS video decoding engine ,is it possible to play HR movie smooth without any skip .I think EEUG can tell us.

...if your movie will play OK on Pentium 350 PC with 32 MB RAM and 4 MB of video memory using commercial software then you can answer yourself

. Btw., does your movie use qpel and/or XviD's GMC? And what's the actual resolution of it?...

Hi EEUG

The HR movie resolution is 960x528,no Qpel and GMC but have b-vop.File size is 700Mb.

Basically just some motion scene have frame skip and audio skip .

. Much more than DVD. I don't really think that PS2 will ever be able to run it flawlessly (well, if to rewrite the whole SMS in assembly hand tuning every CPU cycle and execution pipeline - maybe). But at that time Playstation 32 ((C) "Mr.Worm~~") will come out

The file 'skin.sms' needs to be in mc0:/SMS (that's the SMS directory on your memory card). Copy it there with a USB stick or the networking of uLaunchELF (FTP, host), for example. Then you need to enable background images in the browser settings of SMS--push start to access the menu.

Yeah it is really too big,i will try to resize itto 720x480 and run on SMS again .And i like eat popcorn very much !!

Here's some new ones, maybe this will help start more people skinning. I also included the xcf template for Gimp'ers. bye.

EDIT: this topic one is very old and the .ski format isn't used anymore on the new ones (These are .smi) Sorry.

How-To install: Navigate to Memory card -> /SMS folder. Create "Skins" folder (not "skins"), drop the .smi's in there. You can have more than one and they're very small to store. bye.
